Official Vehicle Public Tender

The Australian Embassy in Dili wishes to advise that a closed ballot tender will take place on the weekend of 18-19 October 2025 for the sale of existing fleet vehicles. This will include five (5) vehicles.

Please note: as these vehicles were originally purchased duty free, the successful buyer will be responsible for paying any applicable local taxes as required under local regulation, unless you are able to demonstrate you are covered by a duty exemption.  

Additionally, the new owner will be required to liaise directly with the Transport Department to arrange the transfer of vehicle registration.

Vehicle Inspection

The vehicles will be available for viewing and inspection at the Australian Embassy on the weekend of 18-19 October 2025 from 10.00am - 4.00pm.

Closed Ballot Tender Process

The auction process will be managed by the Australian Embassy and tender bids will be accepted via email to [email protected] or can be submitted in person in a sealed envelope in the Tender Box at the Australian Embassy during opening hours, at any time up until auction close. Please include the following details in your response email:

  • Name
  • Phone number
  • Vehicle type/name
  • Bid amount
  • Copy of your ID

Deadline for Submission of Bids: 19 October at 4.00pm

Copies of all tender documents, including the bid template that must be used, and the full list of cars for sale will be available in hard copy from the Australian Embassy during opening hours or electronically on the Australian Embassy, Dili website www.timorleste.embassy.gov.au under the News and Media section.

Tie-Breaking Rules

In the event that two or more bidders submit identical highest bids for the same vehicle, the Australian Embassy will request a re-bid from those tied bidders. Only the tied bidders will be invited to submit a re-bid. The tied bidders must submit their re-bid within the timeframe specified by the Australian Embassy. The highest re-bid received within that timeframe will be declared the winning bid.
