Dili – CEO of ANL Container Line, Mr Shane Walden, has been appointed as Australia’s Business Champion for Timor-Leste continuing his long-history of positive engagement with one of Australia’s closest partners and neighbours.
Mr Walden has a strong connection to Timor-Leste through his work with ANL. As Business Champion, drawing on his experience advancing economic connectivity, he will work with Timor-Leste to support its economic goals – including deeper regional economic integration.
Invested: Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040 outlines opportunities for Australia to grow trade and investment with Southeast Asian countries across a range of sectors. It highlights the importance of government and business working together, and specifically outlines opportunities for greater economic engagement between Australia and Timor-Leste in the agriculture and food, resources, infrastructure and education sectors. As Timor-Leste’s largest development partner, Australia is committed to partnering with Timor-Leste to build its economic resilience and support economic diversification.
