TIMOR-LESTE – AUSTRALIA ECONOMIC AND BUSINESS CONFERENCE 2025 SET TO KICK OFF IN DILI

The Australian Government, in partnership with Timor-Leste’s Vice Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, TradeInvest Timor-Leste, and the Timor-Leste Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is set to host the Timor-Leste – Australia Economic and Business Conference 2025 from 7 to 8 August at the Dili Convention Centre.

The event aims to strengthen economic and business ties between the two countries by bringing together business leaders, investors, and policymakers to connect, collaborate, and explore opportunities across four key sectors: agriculture, tourism, manufacturing and processing, and minerals and resources.

The conference will feature two thematic sessions each day. On Day 1, the focus will be on tourism and agriculture, while Day 2 will cover manufacturing and processing, as well as minerals and resources, along with a keynote panel discussion on Timor-Leste’s ASEAN accession.

We are pleased to announce the participation of a distinguished lineup of high-profile speakers at the Timor-Leste - Australia Economic and Business Conference 2025. Confirmed speakers include prominent business leaders and influential voices from across the region, such as Mr. Nicholas Moore, Australia's Special Envoy for Southeast Asia and Mr. Shane Walden, Australia’s Business Champion for Timor-Leste. Their insights and presence will shape discussions on economic cooperation, and sustainable development between Timor-Leste and Australia and underscores the importance of this event as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and forward-looking partnerships.

During the two-day conference, participants will explore business and partnership opportunities, build business-to-business networks, and deepen their understanding of the prospects for closer business engagement between both countries. The conference also aims to generate insights that can strengthen and support Timor-Leste’s private sector-led economic reform agenda.

Around 300 business leaders from Australia and Timor-Leste are expected to attend the conference, with 40 companies set to showcase their products at the accompanying trade fair.
