How to enter:
- Submit a maximum of three (3) photos via email to: [email protected]
- Entries close 4pm Friday, 31 March 2017
- Include your full name, age, address, phone number and email address so we can contact you if you are shortlisted as a finalist.
- The winner will be selected by a panel and the two runners-up will be selected through a Facebook competition
- Attachments must not exceed 5 megabytes and we prefer jpg file.
By submitting your photo to this competition, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions, including use of your photo for promotional activities by the Australian Embassy and competition sponsors. Terms and Conditions are published below.
Competition Terms and Conditions:
- Competition is open to photographers of all ages, genders and nationalities.
- Australian Embassy staff and their immediate family members are not permitted to enter.
- Entrants must submit a clear digital photograph between 1.5 and 5 megabytes. All colour formats including, black and white or sepia are acceptable.
- Entries must follow the theme ‘What I love About Timor-Leste’ and will not be accepted after 31 March 2017.
- The embassy will accept a maximum of three photographs per individual.
- Entries must be your own, original work and not the work of others, such as existing photos copied from the internet, social media sites, or other publicly available images.
- Australia Embassy will not accept photographs that have been previously submitted to competitions or have won in any local or international photography contest.
- Photographs must have been created in the last 6 months.
- Only winning entrants will be notified by telephone or email by 24 April 2017.
- Entrants grant permission to the Australian Embassy Dili and competition sponsors to reproduce their photograph in promotional activities, on the Embassy Facebook page, website, banners and publications.
- First Prize winner will be judged by the Australian Embassy Dili and two Runners-up will be decided through a Facebook competition on the Australian Embassy’s Facebook page. All decisions of the judgement panel are final and will not be reviewed.
- Australian Embassy will not accept photographs that violate a person’s rights including, but not limited to copyright and privacy.
- Australian would not accept inappropriate photographs deemed offensive, obscene, sexually explicit, or politically motivated content.
Competition Judgement criteria
The entries shall be judged based on the following criteria:
- Relevance of content to the task, adherence to theme/content, creativity and originality, photographic quality and broad appeal.
- Artistic quality (structure, interest evoked, balance, use of colour/tone, expression of concept/emotion/ideas etc.)
- Resolution and photo quality, i.e. clarity etc. (>1.5mb, 300dpi)
- Number of likes and shares on our Facebook page
